The Bisinella Community Centre was built as part of the developer-funded community infrastructure for Lara's new Grand Lakes Estate.
The Bisinella Community Centre is operated by the Lara Community Centre Inc. By having a second venue, the Lara Community Centre has been able to expand existing programs and introduce new programs for the benefit of all Lara residents. The Bisinella Community Centre is a modern, energy efficient building designed to take advantage of its elevated location and attractive outlook, with views across the estate's lakes and landscaped parkland. The facilities include a hall, three offices, a kitchen, landscaped surrounds and 16 car spaces.
Constructed at a cost of approximately $750,000, the centre is owned and maintained by Bisinella Developments and leased to the Lara Community Centre for a peppercorn rent.
Grand Lakes Estate
Grand Lakes Estate is a prestigious estate in Lara (40 minutes from Melbourne and less than 15 to 20 minutes from Geelong) with around 800 lots ranging from 350m2 to 1000m2. Proposed estate layout is available for viewing at our office. The Grand Lakes layout and urban design features enable the development of a diverse range of housing choices that will appropriately integrate with the proposed and established road and cycle networks and public open space areas. Grand Lakes also incorporates Lakes and Wetland systems to achieve Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD). Water Sensitive Urban Design principles ensure that stormwater runoff from houses and roads are treated to current best practise requirements to minimise impacts on water quality downstream of the development. Another design feature is the promotion of community development with the provision of childcare facilities/kindergarten, Bisinella Community Centre, restaurant and extensive recreational areas in the public open space.
